I'm from SC, but my 341 is not until this Friday, so I can't tell you anything yet. I am freaking out too. I keep taking deep breaths and telling myself it will be okay.

My trustee is Ryan Hovis. I can't wait for it all to be over with too. My attorney said he was happy with the trustee I got, so I'm holding on to that for dear life.

            Not from SC

I'm not from SC - but in WI they have a website for the district with the trustees names and they have little postings that kind of give you a sense if they're tough or not. One trustee wrote a "what not to do in court" which was hilarious! Maybe your district has this? Try doing a google for your trustees name ... might bring something up?

And remember, breath - everyone is nervous, but then again everyone says it was a breeze to go through and you look back wondering why you were so nervous.

I tried to look up my trustee and couldn't find anything. Besides burping or scratching myself inappropriately ;), what else should I not do in court?

close enough herekitty - it is excerpt and those excuses are funny. When I was headed to mine I made the mistake of getting on the xpressway and of course there was a traffic accident. Fortunately, the accident cleared and I made it to courthouse but only because I had the presence of mind to leave EARLY which I almost never do. DItto on the 341 - it is not even close to being as ominous as you think. I was exactly like you guys before I went. Couldnt sleep the night before, etc., and the guys on the forum told me the same thing...you will not believe how non-frightening the 341 really is and it doesnt last more than 5-10 minutes depending on your case. There were exactly right...I am sure it will be the same for ya'll...good luck!

Okay, please let this be my ray of hope that no one is going to object. I am disputing with Experian on an old acct that I found listed wrong when I pulled my credit reports for the Bk. Anyway, today I pulled up the report number and looked at the credit cards I filed Bk on and this is what they say:

Card 1) Status: petition for ch 7 Bk/ Acct charged off.
Card 2) Status: included in BK/Past due 30 days. Acct history: discharged through Bk 7

They both have zero balances now. Does this mean they aren't going to object to the bk or want an adversary hearing or anything??

Not necessarily. But credit cards rarely object. The only time they object is if there are substantial purchases or use of the card within the presumed fraudulent time fram (i.e. 60 days before filing BK), or you have cash advances, major purchases, or balance transfers within 6 months of filing BK. Otherwise, most credit cards go quitely into the night.

Most companies will NEVER object....too costly....
When you get the final "discharge" from the court - then go back, check credit report and make sure they all say "included in BK, -0- balance....
Right now they are not discharged - just petitioned for discharge..

CALM DOWN FOLKS - really -- BK is mostly painless

                        LOL - unless your ME................DUH

Well I wish my nerves would listen to you. They are all on edge right now. I couldn't imagine how much of a mess I would be if mine took as long as your's (Minny) is taking. And I did have quite a few charges in Jan and Feb because I was sick and out of work with no sick leave. Plus that's when the Christmas chrgs hit too. Geez. Never again. Christmas, as is everything else, will be cash only from now on.
