I'm a full time student, living off of student loans. I had my 341 meeting last Thursday. I generally get a temporary part time job during the holidays (usually 8-12 hours a week at $8.00 per hour). Am I still able to do that this year as I just recently had my 341? Or, do I need to wait until discharge before the job? I ususally start the holiday job in mid November. Thank you!

Do you have an attorney? Were you under alot on the means test? You are only talking about about 50-75 bucks take home. and for how long?. I would let your attorney know if you have one. You should be discharging in a few weeks after you start. Do you get paid every week or every 2 weeks? Maybe you will get your first check after discharge??? If it is only for the holidays, you are not talking about much money maybe 500.00 dollars, but I would still let your attorney know.

you shouldn't have a problem working now. I am going to, my lawyer told me don't do anything like sell thing or go back to work 10 days after the 341. We need to move and pay off some DR bills so we need the extra cash.

Worried Now
Can someone clarify the impact of a job after the 341? I was under the impression that any income made after the 341 would not be an issue. We are planning to file Ch 7 first week of Dec, so I assume our 341 would be sometime around the first week of Jan, we will be completing our training for commerical truck driving around mid January and hopefully will be starting to work around the first week of Feb. Please tell me this is not going to cause a problem!!

It won't cause a problem. When you file your financial snapshot will be the one on the date of filing, and possibly carry over to the 341 date. At the 341 hearing you might be asked if you foresee any changes in your financial future. Just say that you "assume" that in February you "might" get a truck driving job.
Just because you'll be finishing a truck driving school does not mean that you will get a job the day after graduating from that school.

Thank you!
Exactly! No one is guaranteed a job until they actually have it, so I was hoping that just because we are getting the qualifications for the job and intend to apply for the job that it wouldn't go against us. Even if we do get the job (hopefully!) we don't know what our pay will be until the time comes. Thank you for easing my mind on this!Originally posted by magyar123 View PostIt won't cause a problem.
