How much do they scrutinize??

Hi everyone. I was wondering, how much do they scrutinize your checking after you file? Like when i go to the 341, is the trustee going to say well, i see you did a 100 debit he and took 60.00 withdrawal there and you went to dinner for 50.00 etc??

Not usually.

He may ask about large transactions where he can't figure out what it might of been.

Don't be pulling out $500 to $1,000 for "cash"... Like we have that hanging out in our checking, huh?
Other than, I don't think you have much to worry about...

Rarely will they be that specific and ask questions like that. As JRScott said they are looking for the bigger $$$.

Now that is not saying they might question your bills. The US Trustee did that to me. And it was for a mere $27.00 bill... I filed seperate but married and the Trustee wanted to see my wife's income and her non-homestead bills (i.e. athletic club, magazine, cell phone) bills. Well, I said she paid $27 to the local newspaper and low-n-behold the US Trustee wanted to see a copy of that bill. I sent it to them and never heard anything back. WHEW!!!!
My attny said they were filtering out the fraud vs non-fraud petitions.

Anyway, you should be ok. They have neither the time or money to be that detailed. BUT if they smell fraud you better believe they will put you under a microscope!

Gopher- i cannot belieave they questioned a 27.00 bill. I mean give me a break huh??

Liz - Yeah, we played a scratch lottery ticket and i said to my hubby watch we will probably win the 1500.00. But, no that didn't happen. LOL...

I asked our lawyer that, and he said they wouldn't question any small purchases...anything under $500
