Does Atty or Trustee Check Credit Report?

My atty mentioned that for $30, he could pull all of my credit reports before filing. I was wondering if he or the trustee looks at your credit report at any time during the process. Just curious.

Generally, the trustee does not look at your credit report (I have heard of some trustees doing so, but I really can't imagine why they would).

The reason to pull your CR is to try to cover all your bases and list all your creditors.

At my request, our attorney pulled mine and my husband's CR for the same reason mentioned above. For $60 ($30 for DH and $30 for me) both our reports were pulled from two different sources.

I was listed on a few of my father's cc accounts. He filed 13 back in 2005 and was about to be discharged around the time DH and I filed. The attorney figured it would be in my best interest to include those accounts on my creditor matrix as well just in case they decided to go after me. Not only that, I wanted to make sure that no creditor was missed. For the most part I was able to do the matrix without the CR, but there were a few accounts of my husband's (from the business he had with his father) that I was aware of but didn't know the amount owed or the account numbers. The CR was helpful when it came to sorting all that out.

As far as I know, my trustee didn't look at either one of our CR. If he did, then I wasn't told about it.
