Hi everyone. I am currently 6 weeks behind on my 08 honda and I filed for chapter 7 on Oct. 27. My 341 is on Dec. 2 and I'm trying to save for a decent cash car before the honda is reposessed. How long do you think I have? Is there any reason that my car can't be repo'd for a certain amount of time since I've already filed, or can they come get it whenever they want?

Since you have now filed Chapter 7 your lender is covered by the automatic stay. They can't take your vehicle unless or until they file a request for relief of stay (and it's granted) or your case is finally discharged.Filed Ch 7 - 6/30/08

Thanks for the reply slam22. Will I have any way of knowing if or when they file for relief of stay? If so, will I be told if it was granted or not? I just don't know much about this automatic stay and relief of stay....Comment
