    Means Test

If you are under the median income for your state are you required to complete the means test as well?

    i didn't think so

but someone responded to my post saying you should, if you go on the means test calculator and it is under median it says to go no further, but maybe someone on here will know more.

If you're under the median there's no need, and no reason, to go any further on the Form 22.

I suppose if you didn't know yet whether your 6-month income was over or under the median (because of variable income or waiting on pay statements or whatever), you might want to work through the means test for your own peace of mind, but that's about the only reason I can think of. But if you can document that you're under median for the six calendar months prior to the month you're filing in, go no further.
