    I don't have a SS card

My attorney said that I'd be able to prove my ss # by submitting my last year's tax returns. The tax returns, I believe, were filed with my bankruptcy papers. Was anyone else able to do this? I keep reading about bringing a ss card & photo i.d. (I have one of those). Thanks!

Oh! 341 is on December 1.

Go to the local SS office with your driver's lic and they will mail you a new copy. You need to have a copy regardless.

I would not risk not having a SS card when you go to 341. You could try other things & maybe they wont care but seriously dont play with that if you dont have to because your discharge is too important & the trustee will ask you for it.

The trustee wants to match that card # to what you put on your paperwork.

a good attorney might be able to work up enough ID in its place to suffice. If for some reason you dont get one before the date, take plenty of info with your SS number on it & all the things you can to prove it is you.

I know someone who went there without a DL & did ok.

        I agree.

Don't you have to take a birth certificate also with you?

I cant remember it has been so long ago. I got mine when I signed up for the draft & that makes my card ancient.

My lawyer said that a tax return would not work. He said they want to see something with your SSN on it that's not generated by you (or your accountant).

I believe I remember someone at my 341 using a health insurance card with their name and SSN that was issued by their insurer. Maybe you could call your trustee's office and find out what they'll accept if you can't get a SS card in time.

I got a new copy of my SS card and only needed to show my license. this was just last month (oct). It actually came in the mail only like 6 days later. I was impressed.

So head down to your local office. The lady I had was rude as hell but it was no questions asked.
BTW anything I say here is just me yapping based on my experience. Your milage may vary.

Hubby got his 6 days after applying - all he took the SS office was his DL.

The SS office should be able to give you a reciept of sorts that states you have ordered a replacement card. I would get your behind down there tomorrow. With the holiday, I seriously doubt you will get it by the first tho.
