I would check with your bank again. Doesn't make sense that you would need to file another DBA when all your doing is cancelling your account with the bank.

you don't refile your DBA. You just bring in your paperwork showing your info to the new bank. Your old bank is just trying to scare you!

The original poster said something about letting time build up froma cash advance on a CC. My lawyer said those do NOT count as income... is that what you're talking about? Why else would you need to let time build up?

So it doesn't look like fraud by you taking a cash advance and then not paying. Even if you didn't intend to be fraudualent, you want it to look as if made an attempt to pay after cash advances. Also, timeline prior to filing. If it occurred within 90 days prior, the amount would not be allowed to be discharged.

You need distance between a cash advance and filing or it may be seen as abuse/fraud. It's best that you make a few payments showing at least an attempt to pay it back.
          Chapter 7 filed 10/21/2008
          341 - 11/26 went smooth NO ASSET
Took 115 days after 341 - But Finally DISCHARGED 3/25/09

Would that also apply to an advance of less than $750?
