341 meeting - now what?

Hello, I have ben lurking here for awhile but finally am posting. I had my 341 meeting yesterday and I can't believe it was so short and simple? Could it really be that simple?

I was there for 3 minutes tops. He asked about my personal injury law suit - asked how much I would get and I told him I would be receiving $20K and I asked if he would like to see my papers. He said No.

And he said thank you and it was over. He didn't even look at my bank statements. Wow. I have been up all night for weeks worrying. I have lost 10 lbs since filing (10/30) and have shed many many tears and now that I have had my 341 meeting, now what?

My husband and I are separated and I am raising two teenagers on my own. I just could not afford the bills any longer and continue to pay for my house. The bad thing is I work in the credit industry. I'm a credit analyst and I feel like a hypocrit because I had to file bankruptcy, but I also feel a like a big weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

I'm not sure what happens next, I guess I just wait. My attorney did tell me that I might have to have my taxes filed before he will close my case. However, the trustee never said anything about that when I was in my meeting. So not sure if that is true or not? Would he have told me that in our meeting?

My 341 was yesterday also. I was shocked how fast it was over. I had rehearsed in my mind over and over how I was going to explain to the trustee the mound of debt I had accumulated. He NEVER even asked.

It's time to take a deep breath, relax and wait. We are in the 60 day Club together!

Mine is on DEc 10th and I am so worried, I have also lostw eight and shed tears daily, 3 times last week again in the lawyers office, so embarassing, Relief you mentioned the mound of debt, i am worried about that as well, though we wrote a letter how big was your mound?
Mine was 170k which included 2 cars, a loan and cc's.

397,000 and never asked how I got there.
and I don't owe any of it now.

I had about $35K in cc debt. I was really worried because $8K of the debt was just ran up this year, about 4 months before bbk. I was worried he was going to ask me about that. I did make a few payments toward that debt, but finally it hit me that my entire paycheck was going to minimums on credit cards. I finally decided that hubby was not going to come home and we would not reconcile so time to take control of my situation and bankruptcy seemed like the logical solution.

The 341 meeting was very very very fast. I took tons of stuff in there, how I spent the money (mainly to pay bills - robbed Peter to pay Paul as they say) However - I was also worried that he would take my personal injury settlement, but in my state your settlement is exempt up to $50K, so I was fortunate. I need that money to buy a good used car and catch up on my utilites, and finally be ahead of the game. The trustee did not look at anything - no bank statements, nothing, not even my settlement agreement. He took my word for it.

My attorney did tell me before we went in there that this trustee was very fast, and also his brother had just died so he is not himself. My attorney went to this trustee's brothers funeral too. Turns out, my attorney was a trustee before he decided to just start helping people file bankrutpcy so he knows a lot of the trustees.

Now, I guess I just wait and see if anyone objects and be finally discharged. I'm so excited the 341 meeting is finally behind and I can finally EAT! lol.

Our total was $252k, which is a massive amount in my eyes. The trustee didn't ask us a single question. I am still amazed at how easy it was. Everyone told me not to stress, but my nature is to worry, so I was ready to spill my guts. Never had the chance - it was over soooooo fast.
