How can I prove I don't own anything practically??

    hi (again),
I am living in an apartment with my roommate. the only thing is is truly mine is (1) 5 year old tv, a vcr/dvd player, a macbook and some dvds. Everything else is his. The furniture we are using is on loan from my mum until I can get back on my feet. If I fill out that I have no furniture, will the trustee become suspicious and want to raid our apartment? Should I put that it is mine so they dont think I am scamming them? i just dont want to say it is mine and then have them take it cause then my mum will be PISSED! anyone else been in this situation? thanks so much. bye!

Just list what's yours. If you are honest, you have nothing to worry about. The trustee doesn't want your mom's furniture.

thanks for you response. i am being honest but i just didnt know how to prove they werent mine except having them go line by line through my cc statements and seeing that i never made a furniture purchase in my life. i just have these nightmares of a trustee coming through my house and ripping it apart like he was with the FBI. haha. im just freaking myself out thats all. thank god for these boards to keep me sane.

Don't worry about that. The WORST that happens is the trustee can send an appraiser to your home to determine the value of your belongings. They would have to be VALUABLE for the trustee to take them. If your Mom's stuff is like my mom's stuff, you wouldn't have a problem Doubtful, VERY doubtful that would happen to you.

The chances of the trustee sending out an appraiser for you is near to none. There would probably be a greater chance of the Earth getting sucked into a black hole today. The reason, unless you are discharging a LARGE amount and there seems to be some possiblilty of fraud, they won't waste their time. They are looking for people who purchased a lot of luxury items and are not claiming them. You have nothing to worry about. Just don't show up for your 341 meeting in a mink coat. ;)
