Quick question...I've had my 341 meeting and...

    Hello TO ALL!

I had my 341 meeting on Nov.19, '08. (I want to rebuild my credit, yet I DO NOT want a CC)On Nov.25th I applied for furniture credit and was approved for $1350

Will this interfere with my ch.7 case if it haven't been discharged yet?

Debbie, that IS a credit card and you shouldn't be applying or charging until your case is dismissed to play it safe.

Retailers must need business badly to give someone credit a month after filing for BK. Maybe they figure you can't file again for several years.

NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER apply for credit while awaiting discharge. NEVER.

Don't start rebuilding until after the discharge papers are in your hands.

Thx yall. Since the damage have already been done...I guess I'll just have to suffer the consequences.

I WILL NOT APPLY FOR ANYTHING ELSE, EVEN AFTER I RECEIVE MY DISCHARGE PAPERS.

        Thx again

Applying for credit (any type) while still awaiting discharge is a big mistake. You will have time to rebuild your credit AFTER you get your discharge.

The thought of applying for any kind of unsecured credit makes me want to vomit. I don't trust myself So I have to stay away.
BTW anything I say here is just me yapping based on my experience. Your milage may vary.

From what I've read, credit card companies will not consider lending to anyone who has an open bankruptcy case.
