when do i file for 2007 taxes and question about bank statement

Does it matter when I file my taxes when the filing date comes around? Do I wait until after I receive a discharge, or does it not matter? I usually file right away in Janurary and get it out of the way.

Also, the bankstatement the trustee received during my filing shows a deposit from my student refund check, which gives me a high balance. However, that money was quickly spent and gone, and the only income I recieve is my biweekly paychecks. Will I need to bring updated statements to the 341 meeting to show what I have in the bank, or will they only look at what was available on the day I filed?

edit, i meant my 2008 taxes. i'm so stressed i don't know what year it is.

Nullbalance, I hate to break it to you but you are a bit late to file your 2007 tax. You are probably going to recieve a bit of a penalty.
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

        Null,

Don't feel bad. I had to stop and think when someone asked me how old I was last week!

And I am a year behind from Jan - April as I work as a tax pro during that time. It's usually May before I get the year straight. It's a good thing I don't ever write checks anymore.

And there would only be a penalty assesed if she owed money. If you are getting a refund, the IRS will actually pay you interest if they hold on to your refund for more than 6 months after the return was originally due.
