    Schedule J Expenses

Where on Schedule J do replacement costs go?

We've been living like paupers for about 5 years now and we're down to the bare threads on almost everything we own. Car is run down, furniture is old, and bed are broken, kids don't have many toys. Our house is disorganized and just plain ugly. Our clothes have holes and are unrepairable. The way I understand it is that the Schedule J is supposed to be a living budget, right? The items that will be discharged in Bk are not listed as payments. So where does this stuff go?

Right now all of our money is going to medical bills, credit cards, back utilities, and food.

    When do you plan

on stopping the credit card payments? The advice I've gathered is that when you stop making the payments (at least 90 days before filing), you should use that money to replace and/or fix the things you are talking about. Hopefully by the time you file, everything will be up to speed.
I think of my bankruptcy less as "walking away" and more as "gnawing my leg off to get out of a trap".
