Sould I contact the lender before I file to try to refirm?I am behind like 1 month.I was wondering if they might try to repo it if I tell them I am going to file Chapter 7.Since it is a gas hog I wouldnt be losing much.

It probably wouldn't do any good. I called our lender (Chrysler Financial) and they basically said that my attorney will talk to their BK department and nothing can be done until after filing.
Do you want to keep the vehicle? If you haven't done so recently, you may be able to contact the lender and ask about deferring a payment.Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.
