Anyone having problems with making payments on the items you plan to keep?

I went to make a payment on the 2nd mortgage we have and I was met with an interesting situation: the bank was pretty much refusing to take my payment.

I eventually got them to deposit the money into the savings attached to the account so that I can "convince" them on Monday that they should take it for the 2nd. It seems interesting that they don't want my money. I'm thinking of making my argument with them after I do call (the lawyer said it was okay, if I have any problems to call him): Would they rather have my money or the house that is right now upside down? I'm hoping that we won't have the same problem with the 1st when I send that off this week.

It is; in fact both loans are up to date. No payments missed, always paid on time (due by the 8th for the 2nd; the 15th for the 1st). If they want to reaffirm, then fine, all they need to do is send my attorney the paperwork and he can let me know. I'll take my lunch hour so that it can be taken care of.

I know that the first probably won't be reaffirmed because it's through Countrywide. We'll have to ride it through and deal with it as it comes. My attorney said not to spend the money if they send it back, and to just transfer the money into the savings account. He said that he's seen it happen where people will spend the money that wasn't taken from their account and then have to scramble to find the money the spent months later after everything was straightened out. I'm not gonna let that happen.
