wanting to sell my trailer

Hello everyone,

I was wanting to sell my trailer for $500.00 2 months before we file because I need the money to help cover dental work my wife needs. Is this something that the trustee would be ok with or should I just wait till it is discharged?

I really do not see any problems there, I sold my brand new Jet Ski for $4000.00 and traded my 05 Dodge caravan SE for $4500.00 cash in my pocket and drove out with a 04 Dodge Intrepid Car as part of the trade just months before filing, I used the money to pay bills, my BK Lawyer and my Child Support Lawyer.
As long as you retain all reciets for cash spent and you are able to show them, showing that you used the cash for your everyday life and did not go out and buy luxury items , you should be OK.

I don't think so. Especially if you're spending the money on dental work. I'd keep the statements, though.

Your dental work is somewhat of an emergency as teeth don't heal they keep going bad if nothing is done. 500 bucks is nothing to fret about. Now if it were 5000......... 'Hub

Just try not to sell it to a family member. That'll sidestep any preference issues.
