I currently have a roomate that is a co-signer on my house. I just filed ch 7, and am wondering if anything can happen to her credit or her place to live? I would think that even if the house gets filed on, that she would still be responsible for it as a co-signer? Anyone know? I want to keep the house anyway, but just want to know what to expect.

If you are reaffirming the mortgage(s) and stay current on payments, her credit will not be affected. If you were to discharge the mortgage(s) in your BK, she would then be solely responsible for the loan. -
Thats what I thought... so if for some reason, there is no re-affirmation, then she keeps the house and is still responsible for the loan. The house can't be taken away from her? That's correct right?Filed Ch7 BK - 12/10/08
