    friend being strange

The one person i confided in,( always been a little competative) has become reallt weird to me, she seems to be jealous I will be debt free and when i had told her about our decision to let he house go, as we want to build up savings and put ourselves in a good situation for the future she sounded livid! Infact she just phoned me to say she has been thinking about it and thinks I may get sued for abandomnment for the house if I leave it, i told her know it was in bankruptcy protection and she said she thought that was wrong and should not be allowed.... she then asked if I was nervous for my 341 and I was so annoyed by this time I said.. No... i am looking forward to my fresh start.. she then said well...hope it goes that way for ya, probably wont but good luck.
BTW this is someone who charge off 80k worth of debt and re financed her home to cut a deal with creditors.

wow when your down and out you find out who your friends are...

She does sound jealous. Strange behavior if you ask me. My friends that understand bankruptcy or have gone thru it are very supportive. Those that dont understand it are worried or think I'm destroying myself. They are not however jealous. wierd.
BTW anything I say here is just me yapping based on my experience. Your milage may vary.

That person is not a good friend to have around. Trust me - people like that feed off everybodys positivity and turn it into a bad situation. Theres always a way to them - to find negativity. I cannot stand people like that.

A true friend would be supportive and keepy snarky untrue comments to themselves. How dare they try to crunch you down at a vulnerable time in your life

After you are discharged from Chapter 7, you might want to file social bankruptcy, and rid yourself of that person! lol.

I used to have negative people in my life (I call them "toxic" because they ruin every happy situation), in the past 5 years I have totally cut them off. It was the last straw, I couldnt take it anymore. I have never been happier And for the record, my best friend is so supportive and is looking forward to me being debt free as well. Thats a true friend.

Good Luck with your bk, keep that chin up. Sending all good vibes your way

                        Give Negative Nancy the Boot

She is jealous. I think we've all had so-called "friends" or family who, rather than support us through tough times, can't manage to hide their true feelings and work hard to steer us in the wrong direction because they're afraid we might actually be successful. Come to think of it...I think that was my ex-husband! LOL! Time to detox and get rid of this fake friend. Good luck on your fresh start! Thankfully, I have a great network of supportive people right now...heck, when I tell them what I'm doing, some say the wish they had the guts, and others are asking for my atty's info so they can explore their options.

I understand. My neighbor hasn't really talked to me since I told her we were doing a foreclosure (she doesn't even know about the BK). There was no empathy at all. Like losing everything is easy. Some people just don't understand until they've walked in your shoes.
