I keep terrible records and lost some of the stuff in a fire a few months back... I have alot of my statements paperless now too...

I have my '07 Tax return, transcrips on their way clear back to '04

Checking account statements back to June '08 when the bank changed names.. Gonna give them a call tomorow and see about getting before that..

I have from December '07 on 2 of the recent CC's (minus july on one, there was no balance no charges)

THe other CC I have back to June '08

I also had a Wamu checking.. Not sure when the last time was I used the account.. Probably over a year ago.. Just checked the other day and there was $5.25 left in it.. I wrote myself a check and deposited in my local bank's account.. Sending the letter to have that account closed...
Should I see about getting statemnts from them??

What about things like Paypal?? I haven't sold anything on ebay for probably well over a year now.. I've just used it for purchases which pulled the funds directly from my checking...

Big question is, how far back should I have statements for everything...

Well, on the WAMU account you can get your statements on line, before you file. Also, try to hop on line before they get the letter to close the account. Download the paperless statements to your hard drive.

Don't know about pay pal. Maybe someone else here does.

It seems like different attornies ask for different length of time on your statements - depending upon the district you are in probably.

I had to file 3 yrs of cc stmts, 2 yrs min of bank statments, 4 yrs tax returns including current return (2007, not 2008). Then, the killer, 10 years of real estate transactions and mortgages! That took forever....check with your attorney. (I ended up filing somewhere between 3 and 4 reams of documents at 500 pages per ream). LOL. Took a while.

I haven;t sent my letter to close the account yet. Spent about a half hour on the phone , finally got my online username and password for WAMU that I had forgotten...

Gonna give the recent CC's a call tomorrow morn and see if they can send me copies of the earlier statements without raising any suspicions...

I also have a few really old CC debts.. They've been bounced around CA's for around 4 years now.. I'm hoping these statements won;t be needed.. IF so how does one get them???

I managed to print the listing of all transactions for the last year from Paypal.. All purchases show up in my checking and no income there, but It' can;t hurt...
