Car Lease Repo fees - Can this be discharged?

My husband and I are in the VERY preliminary stages of filing. (ie - We've contacted a lawyer and are gathering up the info we need to get started) but with the holidays, and the fact that we are having to get paystubs from a couple of different places sent from corporate offices I am worried that our cars may be reposessed before we get filed. Honestly it's not a horrible problem from a day to day standpoint, we can borrow a car or pick up a cheapo to drive till we get back on our feet, but I am wondering if the difference in what we owe and what they get at auction can be discharged or if this is something that we wouldn't be able to get out from? Hopefully we can pull through and wait and have them repoed after we file. They are both leases and were leased around 10 months ago.

Thanks for the advice, I've been browsing the forums and am learning so much!

I voluntarily returned a car and they ( the creditor) told me that I would get it discharged.

I had another car repo'd ( a nightmare story, I was actually in the middle of negotiating the buyout, was current and they took it anyway).

Now screw US bank, I am driving my old car.

I included the excess wear and tear and repo fees on my petition.

    I FILE TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!
Very fortunate in the grand scheme of things but have learned my lesson.

    Filed 12/15/08, 341 1/12/09, Cont to 2/12/09, cont to 3/12/09, cont to 4/15/09, cont to 5/11/09, cont to 6/02/09. Discharged 9/16/09, Closed 10/23/09
