    Credit Card

I live in a non-community property state. All non-secured debt is in my name alone, except for one credit card with both our names on it. I am filing by myself...so what happens to the joint cc? Will they come after him or will it have to be reaffirmed? It only has a 2K balance.

They will go after him for it. You will be discharged from the debt but your spouse will still owe it.

So, if I plan on filing end of March, I should keep on paying my mortgage and that one CC because they will be the only debts surviving the BK. That way they won't have to "come after" my husband because it is being paid. And after the discharge, we can use our extra money to pay the cc off. I assume they will cancel the card after learning of the BK...correct? Or might they leave it open in his name since he is not filing? Either way...we don't want it. Just curious.

One more thing.....I have a MasterCard Debit card attached to my checking account. It can only be used for debits...so do you think will that be closed also.

Don't think that they will close a debit card, especially since banks are trying to talk people into not writing checks but using their debit cards.
