    Surrender / Repo Car question

If I'm including my car (lease) on the BK in March am I better to bring the car back to the dealer after my 341 gets set? I don't want the repo where my daughter can see and would rather bring the car back to the dealer or leave it in a secure area where they can pick it up. Anyone have ideas?

I was wondering the same thing myself. There is a lien on my truck and dirt bike and I would rather surrender them somewhere other than my home. I hope someone else chimes in here.

I called the bank and told them i had filed bk7 and was surrendering the car, could i bring it to the bank for them? (They didn't want to talk about surrendering the car before bk they just wanted me to make more pymt arrangements.) I met them at the bank an hour after i called and that was that, got a written receipt for the collateral and went immed. and cancelled insurance.

I parked our vehicle in the parking lot at the dealership and placed an envelope with a note and the keys in the service dept. drop box. I was tired of waiting for them to come get it.

at what point did you do this? after the 341 or the date you filed?

After discharge. We called repeatedly after our 341 to try to make arrangements to surrender it and they kept telling us someone would contact us. We were worried about it being impounded at that point because the plates had expired and it was unregistered. I couldn't believe that we still had it sitting there after 6 months of non-payment.
