    large deposits after filing

How hurtful is it for me to have a large deposit on my bank statement after filing? My student refund check came and I deposited it (i couldn't hold on to it more than 90days). The trustee called my lawyer asking for bank statements for the last month, which shows that deposit. I left a note stating the funds were used to pay back relatives, rent, fees, and entertainment (i needed to have some fun while i could). How much is that going to hurt me if she looks at it in detail? I would only get this check maybe twice a year.

My continued meeting is next monday. I'm also worried about when i can file my taxes for this year. should i wait until after the discharge? my case is supposed to be no asset and in MS refunds are covered up to $5000 i think.

How big was the deposit? Keep all the receipts for what the money went to.
But is it somehting you had to consider in your income? Did you tell them?

As far as your tax refund. If refunds are covered you should have no problem. It should have been listed in your paperwork. Do you know hwo they listed it?

not at the time. i decided to opt for the refund after filing to cover the money i had to spend right away with the attorney to get my case started. other wise i would have missed 2weeks of pay and my rent. i'm not sure how it is listed on the schedules, just that the attorney said it would be exempt.
