Wage Garnishment

A writ of garnishment was received by my employer today.It has my correct social security number but my name was misspelled.Does that make any kind of difference.I'm aware of the debt being mine but my attorney wont be able to file my bk until the end of this month

This happened to us. Once you file BK they cannot garnish your wages. If they do they could get in trouble and they have to pay it back. Go ahead and file and then when you have your paperwork send it to your employer or to the creditor and they will simply go away. That is how it worked for us, anyway.
