How long do you have to submit a motion to redeem? I filed on 11/20/08 and initially I was going to surrender the car, but if I can redeem it for a low enough amount I may try to go that route. Does the amount have to be negotiated with the lender before the motion is filed or do you just file the motion and if the court approves it the lender has to accept it? Do attorneys typically charge additional fees to file a motion to redeem?
