Can you take a trip after your meeting?

My mother is sick, I wanted to visit her near the holidays but I didn't go because I just filed, is it ok to visit her after my meeting? The trip isn't a big trip and not expensive, finding tickets on priceline will cost me almost $300, paid for by my debit card.

If you have already had your 341, you should be fine. If you are questioned, you are not going on a vacation to Mexico, you are visiting your sick mother.

what if my MOM is in MEXICO. actually, this is true for us, we have tons of fam in MX. Once we get there, they feed, shelter, drive us around etc. It's a very cheap trip. Sometimes my in laws even buy the plane tix.
