Checklist for Chapter 7 (filing pro se in CA)

    Hello,

I have been reading and posting here and there. I am finally ready to file...i was just wondering if anyone can give me a checklist on the things I need before I began filling out the petition and making the matrix.

I have been trying to get legal help without luck. I went to the Latino Lawyers Association as they are free but after waiting for 5 hours the attorney never showed up and the lady said she would call me when he would be available...that was mid december and still no call...so i am tired of waiting and feel pretty confident in doing it myself I will be posting a lot these next few days so please help.

I have no assets except a car valued no more than 2500. I am on welfare and my son receives SSI for his disability...and both me and my husband can't find jobs...so this is the best way to go for us. I am filing alone though.

So anyone please give me some links or advice on the stuff that I need to file.

I took the pre-bk class (debtor education) but am waiting for the waiver to be approved in order to get my certificate...i have 3yrs worth of tax return trancripts and that's about it. So any advice I will greatly appreciate it and God bless all of you on this site...because it is so embarrassing and difficult to realize you are at the bottom bottom...

We're all there! I had to do the same thing, had no clue about filing pro se and then found this forum. I filed a week later with all of the information I got here.

I don't know what county you are in but this is the website for the bk court in San Diego. All of the forms are in a zip file and there's a tutorial in the site as well. http://www.casb.uscourts.gov/html/frontcounter.htm
    12/05/08 - filed pro se
01/27/09 - case dismissed and closed - 02/24/09 - case reopened and dismissal vacated
    04/01/09 - new 341 scheduled
    6/02/09 - DISCHARGED!!!

      what about

      what about the following:

some may not apply to you but this is what you usually need to fill the petition
to use also as a reference.
      I asked the following
SSN and DRIVER LICENSE OR DMV ID (CA)
when u fill it up u only put the last 4 digit of the ssn. the id is just when u hire a lawyer they want proof that its really you. also i used that to personal data when i put all the files together. and you will bring that to your 341a meeting.

6 months Bank Statement ( if you have one)
6 months Pay stubs ( if you have one. )
      All Bills Statement
Credit Report from the 3 credit report bureau ( u can get it for free from annual credit report , u may call or do it online)
Car Notes, House papers, 4 years taxes

Some member will probably remember every necessary docs
Im a lil blank right now.. i will add later if i remember.
      Good Luck to you!
