I think its a bluff too - can't blame them for trying, but it does not sound like fraud, just the way the economy has tanked for all of us.

Well Boys and Girls Guess it doesn't matter much if Chase is Bluffing or not, because I just lost my job today (12+years there) and will most certainly not have the money to pay anything more than I have now...Cruel twist of fate I guess. So Chase's Lawyer is going to get their response to there little letter. "Dear so and so we officially don't have a pot to pea in so the best your gonna get is $0 can't squeeze blood from a stone." Oh well gonna go wallow in self pity for awhile before the wife comes home and i have to tell her that I lost my job. This sucks

Well Guys here is an Update. Spoke to the lawyer today and basically told us we will deal with it when and if it happens. he said we are in the clear as far as the purchases not being fraud or not intending to pay. (he has most of our financial records for that time period) He basically said that our income had not changed at that point and we hadn't changed our spending habits other than it being a large necesary purchase, there was no intent or evidence that we were just running up our card. He told us that for the most part they (chase) were fishing to see if we would bite. He said that if they want to go that far with it he will file a counter claim for attorneys fees and fight the objection and will win. He knows our money situation and knows we don't have anymore... Kinda felt better when he told us that he didn't like when card companies try to strong arm his clients. I don't know why but I really do like this guy he's been right about everything so far I guess I'll trust him to bring us down the home stretch.

...........By the way thank you guys for the kind words after I posted about being laid off pity party is over and its time to find work got a few good leads so I think we'll be ok..........
