341 Meeting tomorrow!

My 341 meeting is tomorrow.

I have to drive down to the "armpit" of downtown Detroit..ugh. My meeting isnt until the afternoon, but Im going to get there around 10am to be safe, and to get an idea of whats going on.

Wish me luck, I will update as soon as I get out of there, if I can update from my Blackberry I will.

Yeah Intodeep - Goodluck tomorrow. 341's are usually a breeze. Its the same thing, did you sign this, is this you name, do you owe anyone money, does anyone owe you money. Please keep us posted and goodluck again.

Don't forget. don't wear any jewerly. No expensive purses or wallets. Just dress business like so that you show respect for the trustee and the court system.

Im going to wear a nice pair of jeans and a sweater and my pair of brown slip on casual shoes. I dont really own any jewelry, besides a $55 Fossil watch...lol. I dont usually wear that either.

My co-worker had her 341 in December and said people showed up to the 341 meeting in sweat pants! Omg. I wouldnt go in public in sweat pants, let a lone court!! lol.

I am an urban dweller, so my meeting is 3 minutes away on the city hops.
My poor lawyer has to travel an hour to get there! lol

But, let me tell you, this place is a madhouse this week with the Super Bowl.
The media is camped on every available inch of sidewalk. I can't even get to the store.

Two of the kids are flying in to go to the game and I already told them I am NOT picking them up at the airport. Can you spell "CAB"?

The good news is that the shop owners are so happy. They extended their hours and are making up for so much lost business in this lousy economy. I am so happy for them. But, reality will set in again when this is over.

What a day!

For starters, my lawyer was 30 minutes late! But the trustee and him seemed to have a good rapport, and they laughed it off together...

I arrived early to watch. Lots of lawyers making mistakes on the petitions and the trustee finding then. One lady got real snarky with the trustee when she asked the lady where her ss card and license was.. Lol

Only one local creditor showed up for me, my credit union. They asked me how much money I make and why I was filing bk. They seemed eager to reaffirm (I didn't though).

All in all, not bad. Thanks for all of the well wishes!!

Glad to hear about another successful 341! Congrats!! I've read/heard that CUs always show up...did they want you to reaffirm a car loan or something?

As for the "snarky lady", I hope the Trustee went through her petition with a fine tooth comb

The credit union wanted me to reaffirm my checking account & $500 line of credit attached to it. At first I told them yes, then I changed my mind and my lawyer told them no.

I was a little concerned because the rep. from the CU met me in the hallway with a manilla folder, and was flipping through papers. On one paper with my name on it, it said "Customer abused checking account" Does this mean they are going to file an objection?

It doesn't matter, the CU can file all the objections they want...they need to prove that you commited fraud...don't worry
