    My 341 meeting Tampa

My meeting is over, I am glad. I am simple case, I thought it was kinda overkill. As we signed the chptr 7 petition saying it was true. I was first one but my attorney was late, so a I had to wait

She ask me about 20 questions. It was small conference room, 3 other people there with my same time. No creditors showed for anyone.
It last about 10 mins. No need to worry,

Besides the usual questions stated by others here, what other questions did she ask? 20 seems more than what others posted. I will be attending same place.

You will be required to have with you a photo ID, typically your driver's license and your Social Security card. Your name has to agree with what is on those cards.

            The usual questions are:

Did you read through all of your paperwork?
            Did you understand it?
            Did you sign it?
Do you own any property that isn't listed here?
Are you own any stocks or bonds?
Are you expecting any inheritances in the next six months?
Are you expecting or have you received any settlements from a judgment or lawsuit?

Those are pretty much the standard as I recall that we were asked at our 341. There may be questions that are specific to your case. My husband gets Social Security, and at the time, I was getting Unemployment Compensation. We had to explain that.

A question we were NOT asked was if we were expecting an Income Tax refund. No, we owe about 20K to the IRS. But the trustee did ask that of some of the people that he took ahead of us. He also cautioned people to not spend their refund checks or stimulus checks without contacting him first.

You are sworn in and are under oath through all of this, and it is taped.

            I hope that helps.

Ok that sounds good. Thank you for your help.

We will be getting a tax refund and i will be using about 75 % towards the lawyer. Will that be good reasoning?

                  Yes, this is excellent reasoning.

How did you get in this mess.
                    Why are you unemployed.
                    Did any creditors harass you
                    Did you tranf any funds
Did you take a cash advance in laast 6 mos
Do you own any expensive Jewelry
and all the ? mentioned above I thought it was too many.

Wow, FLGail. I'm in Tampa, too, and I didn't get any of those questions! Just goes to show that there's huge variances even within the same district. I only got one oddball question -- what types of pets I have. 2 housecats.

Oh yeah, I forgot that. We had to declare on our paperwork if we had any pets.
                          Yes, three cats.
How much are they valued at?
                          Hunh? They are strays.
What type are they, and how much are they worth?
They are two domestic shorthairs and one domestic longhair.
                          How much are they worth?
They are rescued STRAYS. Nobody wants them except us. Will $1.00 per cat do?

Actually all of that was on our paperwork. The trustee just looked it over and asked.

                          I have no idea why.

Sometimes they ask questions even if its in your paperwork to see if your answers match, remember they are looking for stuff for the creditors....

I just wanted to add, I had a warning about my trustee is known to grill people.
MY attorney's clerk told me there are a few zealous trustees ,dont worry.

I did not let trustee get to me. I just smiled and said i needed fresh start. The poor guy ahead was really nervous.
