    Filing Taxes

I filed Chapter 7 and was cleared in November. Now that I am filing my taxes my accountant has found that it would be better if my husband and I filed together...however he was not part of the bankruptcy. If my husband and I file jointly will the government be able to take his return as well as mine? Should we just file seperately even though I owe the government 1400 because I filed bankruptcy? That's something I never heard of too. My lawyer never told me that I would owe so much because I filed. Anyone have experience with this? I appreciate your help.

There isn't anything you should owe the government because of the bankruptcy. If anything, any 1099s you received from creditors should disappear because you were insolvent. Tell the tax guy to explain with a little more detail or find a new tax guy.
