Here in CA my wife is on her post-partum maternity leave and subsequent 'paid family leave'. This comes from the EDD (employment development department) which is the same 'arm' that pays unemployment claims.
A lawyer told me we can claim her as currently 'unemployed' and her EDD income does not count towards calculating income. Can this be true? It sounded too good to be true.
