Hey guys,

I was wondering if those who filed in a community property state included their spouses bank account, debts and car?

I have a no asset case and even if I include his car and bank account we are literally broke so no problem there.

I know I have to add him as a codebtor, but do I also add his debts or just mine. The bad debts are under my name for which I am filing alone to fix my credit and stuff. He only owes about 2k. Any input I will greatly appreciate. THank you all.

I filed in CA pro se. I am married but filed by myself. I did not list my DHs debts. But I still had to list his name as my spouse and I put "No community debts, recently married". We were married 4 days before I filed.

We have been married for 5 years. We married in 2003 and I opened my cc in 2002.

So you filed pro se. Is it difficult? I have a no asset case and I am currently unemployed and my husband works part time. We are really having a difficult time. What are your suggestions? Thank you very much.

It was not difficult for me. However, I have a legal background (worked in law offices for 12 years and have a JD degree) and I've been through Ch. 7 once before. So I am somewhat familiar with the process.

If you decide to go pro se, you should do lots of research. You can get everything you need online (forms, info., etc.) but make sure what you are looking at is recent. The court website for your district should have information for pro se filers also.
