    It is OK for your budget to show as negative. Actually, it is better for your case if your income is negative, as this shows the trustee and court that you are truly insolvent.

    Based on that, you should list your expenses based on what is reasonably expected for a family of your size to live on.

    Ok we need to file our bk. The problem is we are negative on our budget because dh lost his job. We were going to lower things to come closer to our current income(unemployment, my wages, food stamps etc) But i got thinking what if dh gets a job after we file? Then according to our budget we would look like we have more money. Money to pay back debt.
    But I also don't want them to question that we don't have enough income to keep the house.

    Whats the best way to handle this?
