    Trustee is requesting a CPA??????

So here we are, I am 14 months out of discharge. The trustee was able to recover 30K from my ex, The whole point is I had to file because she wouldn't pay me.

So now I get a letter stating that the trustee is appealing the court to hire expert employment.
They want to hire a CPA. I don't have the exact wording, I didn't see the word audit, but it did say for tax form preparation for one.

Is this just for the distribution of funds?
Or are they coming back after me for something?
They certainly can't expect me to produce records from 2 years ago right?

I emailed my BK lawyer but he is a flake. Doubt to hear anything back from him.

I was married at the time when I filed, but filed single. Because my wife does not, and had not ever lived with me. That was the guidance given me by my lawyer.
The trustee noted that he thought that was interesting, otherwise never said a word.
Wondering if they could be coming back to Audit me from 2 years ago?

    Thanks,

As far as I know this is the norm for cases in which there are significant assets. The Ch. 7 panel trustee hires a CPA to account for the distributions and to make sure the taxes for the BK estate are handled correctly. You've been discharged and there would really have to be compelling reasons (e.g., assets on the date of filing, fraud) for any attempt to revoke a discharge. This is one of the final steps that happens in a Ch. 7 asset case, so look at it as being one step closer to being closed. Good luck!
