I know nothing about 'Pacer'; however, I'm probably going to be right there with Ya. So, like some have suggested, I think it's time I get a Pacer account and be Nosy and look at some other Chapter 7's in my area to see if I can find out what the judges are allowing.

As one poster told me, in his/her area they were allowed a deduction for cigarettes. I smoke, but not that much. It's my husband Cigars that are expensive as he is an OTR Truck Driver, gets bored and if he doesn't smoke Cigars he Eats and he is already carrying around a 'Belly'. He will be 53 in May and at age 50, he had 5 bypass surgery in Feb. and in the same year, that June, he had a Pacemaker implanted.

Are you expenses at the National Standard for your District?

Do you have a Pacer Account? If not, my suggestion might aid you in finding more expenses.

Are your other expenses like food, clothing and home maintenance already at the max? I like Luci's suggestion of being sneaky into other's files. You never know what someone else thought of that never occurred to you.

Good luck...I hope you find some...I could give you one of my kids and that would really up your expenses!!!

I know you are an animal lover, did you include enough for vet visits/food, etc? Also don't forget annual things like tow service (AAA) and/or contacts/glasses. Any subscriptions? How about home repairs? Although I'm over the median for my area, I found every expense and included it into my list that now I'm in the negative.
              Good Luck!

I don't know what you can claim for animal expenses. We just found out this past October our Shih Tzu has a Severe Bladder and Skin Infection. We have spent over $2,000 since then in Vet Bills/ Prescriptions and Prescription Dog Food.

She will have to be on 2 prescriptions and prescription dog food for the rest of her life. We will be paying $115 a month. I know a Trustee is not going to allow that amount. And I'll be darn if I'm getting rid of her as my husband is gone from Sun am - Fri pm.

If I can ever get my mind off this bankruptcy and get my taxes done, we will be putting new tires on both vehicles, privacy fence needs repairs & I have 2 leaking faucets in the house.

Hmmm, I just realized I need to up our grocery bill to include our dining out.

                Thanks,

                Luci

Why not? They are "part of the family" and they have expenses too! I have 6 animals and I put down $100 a month for food and vet visits (I spend way more, but didn't want to be greedy). I think it all depends on your trustee...let's hope you have an understanding/animal lover trustee

Get a wraparound health policy to pick up what the health policy does not pay. Get term life insurance, lower all your deductibles to 100. dollars on house and car insurance to raise the premiums of the policies. Get tenant insurance if you don't own a home.

Get more services on cable and phone to raise the rates.

After you are discharged, get rid of all of it and raise your deductibles.

Where you have haircut listed, our attorney categorized it as "Personal Grooming". We put in $100 because it's not just for a haircut. He said that category included: shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, deodorant, makeup, soap etc.

He said "even though you might buy this at the grocery store, it's not food". I think you could get away with adding more in that area.

Then we had $50 in pet supplies, to cover the pups food and (1) goes to the groomer or he looks like a mop.

You can sign up for the worst ripoff guaranteed issue term life insurance and just cancel it afterwards. You know the stuff Ed McMahon used to pitch.

Charitable is good, you need to establish a pattern of donations by check for a while before filling. Cause the trustee will want it to be "continuing" charitable contributions.

If you're an ex-smoker, that Nicorette gum is pretty expensive.

Flu shots. Allergy shots. Contraceptives. Viagra/Cialis/Levitra.

                          I liked the AAA suggestion.

                          Bottled water service.

You can jack your phone up to about $50 a month with unlimited local and long distance calling.

Decrease your deductibles or increase your liability limits for car insurance.

Charitable contributions can be up to 15% of your income. Our 10% was not questioned, but we did have to provide receipts.
