I wanted to look at Hyundai and Kia again, but their reliability is too poor even in this day and age.

I've owned many Hyundai's in the past. It will be hard for me to want to buy another one until I start seeing ratings like Honda and Toyota in JD Power.

Don't know about Hyundai's but my Kia Amanti has an excellent repair record - and a 100,000/10yr BUMPER TO BUMPER. Had one of the automatic mirrors replaced on my 05 a couple of weeks ago - no cost.

Both Kia and Hyundai's repair record a few years back was terrible but in the last few years they have made a major improvement - seems they started at the top of the line and moving down. - jb

Yes, but in my virtual ( albeit unreal and highly improbable) world of a sudden financial windfall, I wouldn't mind a loss-plus I could just write the loss off.

Hey, Ding - how about setting it up like a co-op? Charge everyone that pays their debt maybe a 10% surcharge which goes into the pot to pay for those that don't. If there is money left over, it is paid back to those in the co-op that have paid in.

There is a small ele. co-op I received power from for a few years several years ago - just got some $60.00+ in a check from them. Get one every year - been since 2001 since I lived in the area. - jb

For the money it is. But wait until it gets 5 years old. The value drops like a stone unlike a 5 year old Civic.

They are great cars for the first 3 years or so.

I've owned many. I should know. I've had the Santa Fe, the Scoupe, the Elantra and an Excel.

Pook, I hope you said this in jest after the dismantling of virtually ALL controls over these industries.

Many states have little or no requirements as to someones background for almost anything - including being a mortgage broker, those that put us in this mess.
