Is this legit? Wells Fargo Mtg & First American Field Svcs

I received a postcard in the mail asking for the status of the condo I am giving up.

It was from First American Field Services in Westlake, TX. According to them, they are "required to ascertain the occupancy status of your property".

Is this legit? I still live there and intend on staying until I get a sale date from Wells Fargo. Why wouldn't I?

Any info will be appreciated. Thanks...

Do you have an attorney? If so call him and ask him if you should answer it.

This is a little funny that they sent a post card. Normally they send someone out from the property preservation dept of the servicer to check to see if it is occupied or vacant. Also they charge "you" for the drive by to check the status. If the condo has been surrendered and discharged natually you are not obligated to pay it. I don't know whether they sent a card because they have too many to check out, LOL! Or, if they sent a card because it is more cost effective.

But the previous poster is correct - check with your attorney to see if you need to respond in any way.
