I don't understand the statement, "(which im not)". If you are not waiting for a discharge, or an opinion, why ask the question?

In my opinion, if you can work the stock market, couldn't you have worked your credit off? Not being rude here, but this, if I were a Trustee, looks as if it is abuse of the system. Some might call it fraud. Only my opinion unless explained in a better way. 'Hub
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

Nothing prevents you from investing at any time during or after your chapter 7.

What is 'work' the stock market? Putting money in the stock market is called investing and it would not be considered fraud.

Not to judge you but unless you "know something" about a particular stock you should run!, don't walk, away from the market at this time and rebuild your emergency fund first, start a retirement fund, start a fund to make purchases, vacations, etc with CASH ONLY so you can avoid this bk crap forever. Once the above is well funded then look into the stock market casino which is what it is becoming more and more.

That's what I am doing anyway. Best of luck to you!

Now is a great time to buy stocks if you invest in sound companies and you are in it for the long haul.

I agree! Most people in bankruptcy aren't ready for this no matter what. The OP can do what he wishes as anyone else can too.

Stocks could decline further in six months leaving most of us with no emergency fund. It will force some of us to go to a bk friendly used car dealer and buy an over priced used car at high interest rates which is just one example.

I say rebuild the funds first, the credit score second and investments later on. If your situation allows you to buy stocks and you won't be affected by emergencies IE someone else is supporting you then fine.

There is no reason why a contribution to your brokerage to buy stocks should not be PART of your emergency fund if you invest wisely.

You can certainly invest 100.00 or so doesn't have to be alot of money.. As far as one of the poster says "unless you know sometime about a certain stock..." That made me laugh, sorry, but if someone did know something about a certain stock then RUN...or be like Martha Stuart.
