Me and my wife have been fortunate to have my mother provide daycare for our 2 year old for the past 2 years. Unfortunately my mother will be moving to another state shortly. We are broderline on the median income to file for chapter 7.
I am currently working full time but have been considering voluntarily going part time to take care of our daughter until my wife gets home. The cost of daycare is just a little below what I would be making otherwise.
If we file in a couple of months and we qualify due to my loss in income, would that be considered abuse since it was voluntary? I know that having an income below the median does not automatically qualify someone for chapter 7 but alot of our income goes towards paying our monthly credit card bills - which if i'm mistaken doesn't count towards the mean test.
