Buying a new bed before filing

not for me but for my toddler who keeps climbing out of his crib. I don't want him to bust his head so he needs to move onto a twin bed (a toddler bed won't work since he is so tall). My question is... can I get him a good quality bed or is this something they will wonder why I didn't just spend as little as possible? Twin beds can range from real cheap to real expensive. I'd also need the side rails to keep him in the bed and new sheets ect.. Plus, I'd like to get him a "train" bed frame (his passion) instead of a regular, cheaper one- is that a no no?

I bought a bed (mattress/box springs/frame) in December, and filed first of April. My attorney didn't seem phased. We were sleeping on the floor. The only reason I could even afford that was because of a bonus (which subsquently put me almost at the median when I filed, though what the paper says shows me w/5,000 more a year than reality). I'm more worried about being only 500 under the median because of that. But if my attorney fills out the rest of the means test, I'd show no disposable income so...........

If your baby needs a bed..buy them a bed!

I was told by my lawyer they don't want you to stop living your life. Buy the clothes my kids need and the food. Take the kids to a movie just don't use the credit cards or buy anything that I can't explain. Bed easy enough. BUY IT!!

i got a big tax return in march and bought a bunk bed (having baby girl #3 this month and wont be living in a house with enough bedrooms for all of them...a bunk bed was the way to go!)

I still ahve to go buy a mattress (filing in july-aug) but the lawyer said all that was fine because it si a necessary expense. I didnt buy the nIcest bunk bed, but i didnt buy the cheapest either.

From what i understand, the trustee really cant argue that. What i want to know is if i can buy a new couch (mine is about to break) or if that will not look "necessary"
