A nightmare. Working without pay!!

So I am in the 60 day club. I should be discharged sometime in June.

I just received some BAD news though. I work for the govt and just found out that as of July I will have to work WITHOUT pay until the budget passes.

Last time they did this people went without pay for 3 months.

I am already bankrupt, cannot get much lower here. Even with many of my debts wiped out I struggle to make ends meet.

My big fear is my car. I did not reaffirm..i just make the payments. If I am even a DAY late they will come and take it. If that happens I will die, have no transportation for work!!!

I have no one to help me out. No family or friends to borrow from. My coworkers are not stressed cuz they have credit cards to live off of until the budget passes. I have nothing!!! I have no way to live!!

Find a part time job that pays to help through this period. Once the budget is passed, do they at least pay you your back pay?

Inform your lender you are a govt employee and you may be subject to not having income until the budget is passed.

They may have protocal for this type of situation, given it seems to happen year after year.

Happened to my cousin who is a teacher here in Cal., and she informed her creditors/LL and they worked something out.

here in CA- i know that Wells Fargo gave direct deposit advances to State Employees when the same thing happened. As long as they had Direct Deposit- (so they could prove how much they made) there weren't any fees either. Hopefully some banks will do that in your area.
