This might be a very specific question, but here goes. If I was thinking of a law enforcement career, how will filing Chapter 7 affect my ability to get hired afterwards?
My background is otherwise in very good shape - no drug history, no arrests, a couple of speeding tickets, good education. The debt was not incurred by "frivolous" spending, but simply surviving and supporting my family over the past eight years, many of which were spent in grad school.
Should I kiss this career goodbye?
(To be honest, with my debt at the level it is currently, I'd be considered a huge security risk from a financial standpoint, and someone who would be tempted to accept bribes or steal to pay my debt. Not that I would do that, but I'm statistically more likely to do so than someone with little or no debt).
