    Retain lawyer after filing?

I have an appointment with an attorney on Monday to get help with my necessary amendments to my ch. 7 filing. I did it in a hurry, and through an online service (debtoraid) which wasn't as helpful as I thought it would be. I didn't know exactly what I had to put as assets, etc. and now I don't even know how I arrived at my income figure.

Does anyone know if it would be possible to retain a lawyer to help me from here on out? Or is it too late? I just thought I could do this myself but now I feel STUPID and I"m soooo scared.

I would say if u need a lawyer to try really really hard. I just read an article on yahoo, about hundreds of lawyers not accepting new clients cuz they're way overbooked with the ones they have. If u do get a lawyer, make sure to ask and get all the information you can get. The lawyers most likely extremely busy and might want to rush you to get to the next person so his day can be over.

I actually got an appt with a local bankruptcy attorney on Monday very easily (called today). I think it's an hour slot.

I am wondering if I could retain him as my attorney for the bankruptcy, after the fact of filing... but i guess i'll find out. If not, I'll be happy just to be able to talk to him and get some help getting these forms done or rather amended as best as possible and know more what to expect regarding my situation which is a MESS i think....

It's up to the attorney, but honestly, most attorney's do not like to get involved in a case after it has been filed.
