Congrats!! I am just starting and just joined July 09. I woud like any advice or things to watch out for from ANYBODY! i too just went through a divorce and the debt I am discharging is all his! I have been screwed by many lawyers and none have been very good at it if you know what I mean!!!

...and the relief I feel is overwhelming.

I normally check Pacer twice a day; in the morning when I get into work and again before I leave to go home. I didn't check it yesterday before I left work because I took half of a personal day. So, I logged on this morning to see if there was an update and I see that I was discharged yesterday afternoon.

At first, I jumped in the air, screamed, "YES!!!" and literally laughed out loud. Then, I sat down and cried. It really is overwhelming. I am relieved and overjoyed, yet I am also ashamed of having gotten in this place to begin with. The flood of emotions is almost too much.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks to all of you on this forum. You helped so much and I really don't know how I would have gotten through some days without you all. So, thank you so very, very much.

ETA: I just realized that I joined this forum exactly one year ago - in July, 2008. Last July, nearly to the day, I left my husband, moved out of the house and got my own apartment. So, in the last year, I ended up getting a divorce and getting a BK discharge. It's almost amazing for me to think of all of the things that have happened in my life in the past 12 months. On the positive side, though, I met and fell in love with a wonderful man and his two amazing children. Next weekend I will be moving out of my apartment and into a new one closer to them. If someone told me last July where I would be today, I NEVER would have believed them. Funny the way it is...

DW and I have a few hurdles to jump yet but the train has left the station and we're on our way I can't wait to get there to feel that joy you're feeling now.
