Can any moderator comment on the ability to change the title of a thread?

Oh, didn't know we had that option. I only check the boards I like this format better.

I had to do the first one before filing, and also the second one after.
There was exceptions for people in the Katrina area, maybe that's why you didn't have to?
I would certainly contact your lawyer asap and find out.
That could throw your case out if not done properly.

About the second class, I understand you have 45 days to file it, we did ours about ten days after the 341.
So we don't have to do the first one in Louisiana (the post-filing one) but we do have to do the financial management one after the 341?

I know things are chaning in Louisiana on September 16, so I am really not sure. Looks like Dave Ramsey only offers the initial class so I am not sure if I am going to get to use his. I might just do it anyway.....I can't say that I can't use the knowledge.

That was quick, I checked the calendar again and we got 9/24/09 at 1PM. I was hoping for a little sooner, but that's OK. If all goes as planned we will have a lot to be thankful for Thanksgiving this year.

CONGRATULATIONS! on your filing of Chapter 7. Yes, I was looking at our District/State Bankruptcy calendar and they are running about 3 weeks behind.

Gee Whilikers, wonder what how late date 341's will be, when we get our 7 filed on 9/30/09? Lots of people filing Bks these days.

    Again, glad ya got filed.

    Hugs,

    Luci
Thanks it's really a big load off of me. I just wanted it done so that there was no more second guessing. I've answered about 6 calls now and gave the information and the calls are stopping already.

We are in the system. I just checked PACER and we are in. I got the case number now and I already saved a copy of my petition via PDF. So, as of 9:23 AM this morning we are another step closer. Looks like the 341 will be on either 9/11 (yikes) or 9/17 based on the calendar and when some other people close to our case number were scheduled. The sooner the better!

In my time on here I have seen a lot of people discuss the classes you have to take after filing. No one made any mention of them to me and according to one of the papers in my petition it is marked not necessary. My lawyer did say that starting 9/16 you have to do some credit counseling. Could it be that Louisiana has not required it until next month? I was planning on doing the Dave Ramsey one because well I love Dave!
