    Filed under old law, what happens now?

    Hello All,

    I filed ch7 in Indiana last week under the old law (whew). I confess that while I'm learning alot from this forum and my own research.... I'm quite confused as to the "normal" sequence of events.

    Question(s):

    Is the 341 meeting the same as a Trustee meeting?
    -what happens in the 341 meeting/what should I bring/expect?

    Assuming the 341 meeting comes and goes without "incident"... what next?
    -is there normally another meeting/court date before discharge?

    ANY other advice or general tips/heads ups are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance for your help!

    For most ch 7 cases, the 341 is the only meeting/hearing. The 341 is where you meet w/ the trustee and creditors have the right to attend to ask you questions. Creditors rarely show. If your income/expenses are nothing unusual, and you didn't have questionable credit transactons recently, the process should be uneventful.
    Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

        Just for my clarification...

        Not that I have any recent credit transactions because mine sucks, but how does the trustee know if you have any recent transactions they should be looking at closer?

        What kind of research does the trustee do before your meeting? I've been curious about that with my research.

        Thanks!

          I believe it is more the responsibility of the creditor to raise a complaint about recent charges, etc. The trustee can dig into your expenses, disposable income, and look at info on your petition.
