Schedule J?

Just reading about amending schedules on here , and situations changing....I'm wondering if I should amend my schedule J. When I filed it I made it as correct as possible, seeing that it says estimated monthly expenses(assuming that is what you were paying upto the time you file). BUt I am wondering , since I put my car payment and car ins. on there and I have surrendered the vehicle, no longer have the payment or ins., that looks like available money. Which it is not . Part of my reason for filing was I couldn't pay my rent , utilities , my roommate/boyfriend was paying it for me , and was no longer willing or able to help me,luckily I do not have to pay him back. So my rent , utilities are now where that "car" money goes. Would you amend that or wait and see if the trustee asks about it at the 341. And give the information then. Also, for October I gave my share of the rent, utilities in cash to him and he wrote the checks to the apartment and utilities. So I have no receipt. Should I type up some type of receipt stating the amounts and both of us sign and have it notorized.From now on I will be giving him a check or money order so I have proof , but I didn't think about it at the time. I'm just trying to be prepared as possible , as forthright as possible . Thanks

I would definitely amend before your 341 meeting. I am sure the Trustee is going to note that you gave up the vehicle (along with payment) and see a significant difference in expense vs. income.

You might be ok either way, but if you're now paying rent, etc. and your petition doesn't show that-it would probably be best to correct it. And, if asked about the amendment-be honest. (Your boyfriend can no longer carry you, so you have to help w/ rent, etc. now that you got rid of your car.)

Can you give the trustee an amended schedule at the 341? Also , I did list a rent amount , less than what I am actually paying. At the time that I was filling schedules out communication with bf/roommate was not good. So I was unsure of what I was going to be paying. Like stated before, As correct as possible! Any comment about making a receipt so I have proof ?
