what is the time frame, from once you get the discharge and your case closes?
Do trustees discharge and close the case the same day??
Is there a minimum time to wait for it to be closed??

Okay,
Approx 60 days after 341 meeting (if no on objects) you will your discharge notice. Usually your case is closed within a couple of days of this.
The Trustee can re-open your case up to one year should he discover assets he can sell. But normally this doesn't happen.
In a simple Chapter 7 yours case is usually over in 4 months, and closed.

Yes cases have been discharged and closed at the same time.

I think the main situation where a case will stay open after discharge is if there is a question of assets... If you are required to submit income tax refunds, the case will likely remain open. Or if the trustee is trying to determine if there is nonexempt equity in your home.

Oh ok..
we are a ch 7 no asset (no house), and hubby's income is under our state median, even though we don't really have to worry since we filed under the old law. We already gave a copy of our taxes to our lawyer, so lawyer /trustee has everything. I called our lawyer and asked if trustee asked for anything and they said no so far.

Nobody has asked for our bank statements. I am bringing everything, just in case, and if they ask we already have it for them. Our 341 is in 1week, next monday...yuck.
