Could I get forbearance on an IIB house in ride-thru?

    Hi All,
Have any of you included your house in bankruptcy, then requested/received (or been denied) forbearance ?

Our ride-thru payments have been current, and the bank hasn't even reported the mortgage as IIB on my credit yet. ...but we'll be stopping payments this month. (pmt is spiking from 700 to 1800)

We're going to move in a year or so, and are just trying to delay the move and save up $$$.

A 90-day (or so) forbearance might push out the foreclosure process if the bank would do it.

    Thoughts?

UPDATE: If the bank DID do a forbearance, would the documents I'd sign constitute reaffirmation? I don't want renewed liability.

I don't know if a forebearance requires a written agreement between you and the lender - but if it does, I would in no way sign it. The debt has been discharged iib. Foreclosures take a long time - you could try to negotiate one, but I would be extra careful. Any agreement signed after your discharge could start 'new debt'.
